Yesterday may have been the birth of a new company IMMORTAL CELL SCIENCES (which for now is a fictitious name for Inteligent*Vitamin*C, Inc) I say may because the alias still has to be approved by the state of Illinois, etc.

Our new liposomal telomerase activator will be IMMORTAL's this that or the other. When I googled the name to make sure it was available, I found this.

Five Reasons Henrietta Lacks is the Most Important Woman in Medical History
http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2010-01/five-reasons-henrietta-lacks-most-important-woman-medical-history

Her cells, taken from a cervical-cancer biopsy, became the first immortal human cell line—the cells reproduce infinitely in a lab. Although other immortal lines have since been established, Lacks's "HeLa" cells are the standard in labs around the world. Together they outweigh 100 Empire State Buildings and could circle the equator three times. This month, PopSci contributor Rebecca Skloot's book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, tells the story behind the woman who revolutionized modern medicine. Here, five reasons we should all thank Henrietta Lacks.

5. It was discovered that Lacks's cancerous cells used an enzyme called telomerase to repair their DNA, allowing them, and other types of cancer cells, to function when normal cells would have died.

It appears from this study that Pauling had a clue about how cells were damaged by oxidative stress leading to further progression to a worst case outcome. Here is a study that shows women who have low A,C,E intake are at greater risk of breast cancer. I haven't heard anything from the "PINK" crowd about this!!!!!

Why did I post it here?

Read it and find out why!!

Thank you johnwen.

Now that we are going to test and market a TA-65-like liposomal product, the issue of cancer arises.

Here is a question and a response from a company selling a similar product in pill form.

Hi,

I am interested in your Recharge product, however I have heard that if you have cancer or cancer proteins- the cancer will feed on the Telomere supplements.. I have MGUS- pre Multiple Myeloma Stage 1. Do you have any info on this?
Thank you.

D.

Hi D.

The cancer question was a theoretical concern in the beginning but, now that the product has been used for almost 10 years, there have been no reports of which we are aware of cancer occurring or being aggravated by this product. In fact, just the opposite has been the case. Cancers have gone into remission after taking a telomerase activator. This topic is discussed in both books we referenced in the announcement we sent out. Dr. Park’s book, Telomere Timebombs, is free with the purchase of 2-or-more bottles or with enrollment for autoship. If you would like to read more about this first, the book is available here: http://www.realityzone.com/telomeretb.html.

If you wake up Thursday and there is a new forum, "Telomerase Activation Medicine" that means the Wednesday was a good day and a conference call went well...

In the meantime, and (I may post this separately), any budding chemists out there willing to exercise their ability and help determine whether this TA-65 patent http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2008/0113925.html describes or matches the astralagus root extract cycloastragenol?

Want to remember this blog about "pure cycloastragenol now available" for future reference,.

RevGenetics openly admits it is as you can see here!
First their web site and then their statement with Lab analysis which is avaiable on their website.

In this thread the discussion has been to increase telomere length through the use of telomerase containing compounds! Which has it good and bad aspects that can result from this kind of activity. In other words if a cell is defective and needs to be removed increasing it’s resistance and life span may not be in the best interest for the body as a whole!

My thoughts have been that to accomplish a positive aspect towards telomere activity would be to protect what you have and reduce or stop it’s shortening activity. The old saying

“That a ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!”

Would cover what I’m trying to convey!

So what I researched and looked into was something that would protect the telomeres from degradation in healthy cells and their chromosomes but allow those who are in bad shape or need to be removed to degrade and be removed.

Of course since there is a whole field of research going on with telomeres and the such, Yes! There has been some research that has been done on what my thoughts where.

There is a series of proteins that can assemble in the body and create a product called “Shelterin” (aka telosome)! Which you can read about in the following links rather then me trying to explain it!
To me it kind of explains why you take two people same age from similar environment and compare their appearance and medical history. One is active and looks 10 years younger then the other who can barely stand!
See what you think?

Right now I’m looking into what these proteins are and how they can be increased!
Here’s the links to wet your whistle!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelterin

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2851797/

There’s a whole lot more on this, just search “Shelterin!”

Well, when you reach the "end of your rope" - its over. Telomeres shorten every cell division unless there is an opposing force (e.g. telomerase is present). So if your goal is to extend your life, perhaps longer than your Hayflick limit, the only option is to find a way to grow "shortened" telomeres.

Now, if the cells are "bad" only because their telomeres have shortened, then you have the proverbial chicken-and-the-egg. To my knowledge, apoptosis happens irrespective of the telomere length.
