Exercise after 40 may be the most crucial exercise

If you can exercise strenuously after age 40, then you are doing other things to keep you healthy and your body in good shape, like supplementing vitamin C and CoQ10, etc. So is exercise affecting telomeres, or these other things?

Exercise is great for health to lose fat, you need to diet/watch caloric intake
as having good testostrone/androgen levels, are going to help telomere length indirectly as androgens help TERT
ie
exposure of TERT-deficient hematopoietic cells to androgens resulted in an increased level of TERT activity(Telomerase reverse transcriptase )

Sex hormones, acting on the TERT gene, increase telomerase activity in human primary hematopoietic cells
