Extended release vitamin c

Post Number:#1  Post by NiacinVC » Tue Aug 21, 2018 3:36 pm

I accidentally purchased vitamin c extended release capsules at cvs last night.

Does anyone here take a few of these throughout the day while taking regular asorbic acid powder/pills and or Lypo vitamin c? Is it wise to take or a waste?

Thanks

I wouldn't take extended release capsules for getting high dose vitamin C. Because they contain binders and fillers which at high amounts are not so non-toxic as vitamin C itself.

However, I would take before periods one can't re-dose often, along with regular powder. For example going asleep.

Like said above, maybe take at night. I wouldn't waste them but also would take them sparingly until they are gone.

I take quite a bit (varies from 4 - 8 grams per day, depending on bowel tolerance and health) of time-release C and have been doing so for years. I also take pure ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate powder twice a day, morning and night. My rationale is that an extended low dose constantly trickling into my bloodstream should keep my blood levels higher, longer, and more closely mimic what the livers/kidneys of most other animals do.

I've also found a certain brand of time-release C pills to have possible additional pain-killing effects, but that's a story for another thread. I've made posts in other threads about it if you're interested.
