AA in urine vs blood

Post Number:#1  Post by Tarzan63 » Tue Aug 13, 2019 9:05 am

Hello. I have been taken AA for some weeks now an got my test strips today. I measured ca 100 mg/dl in urine. Is it possible to use those numbers to determine the actual blood levels of AA?

Ask the manufacturer of the test-strips, if they did any correlation studies between their test-strips and actual serum levels of vitamin C.

The question is whether blood levels can be determined by urine test strips, correct?

Frankly, I don't see how. Vitamin C only "spills" into the urine when blood levels exceed 1.5 mg/dl, otherwise there is a kidney pump that recirculates vitamin C.

We have found that certain glucose meters can measure vitamin C levels in the blood, at least very high levels that occur with "mega doses" of vitamin C.
