Its is more than appalling.. Is there a better word -- heinous? These people have no qualms about lying to the public to protect medical and pharmaceutical financial interests - the people behind and spreading these false reports, that is. (The people who publish these falsehoods are pawns - with large Swiss bank accounts. Internet freedom gives some hope, because the truth at least has a way to get out....)

here are today's examples

And the root of the problem are the insane advertising revenues that allowing drug advertisements direct to consumers creates for the mainstream media.

http://www.wbur.org/commonhealth/2018/02/05/vitamin-evidence

The key message is that for most of the population, it's best to get these vitamins and minerals from the diet, from foods. That's where they're best absorbed, and they're in the optimal biological ratios.

Which would be wonderful if everyone could eat a diet like their ancient ancestors in the wild.. Since we live in the real world, supplements are health insurance.

Health experts say food supplements like vitamin C create costly vitamin pee
http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/st-scroll-back-health-experts-say-food-supplements-like-vitamin-c-creates-costly-vitamin

Like to contact Denise CHong because the REAL expensive pee is caused by all the Big Pharma medications that are pee'd out. So much so as polluting the water tables! (If enough people peed out vitamin C - that might help with the Big Pharma pollution.)

Lies and more lies from big pharma's favorite mouth piece - the New York Times

Older Americans Are ‘Hooked’ on Vitamins

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/03/well/older-americans-vitamins-dietary-supplements.html

But just a few years later, she found herself reversing course, after rigorous clinical trials found neither vitamin E nor folic acid supplements did anything to protect the heart. Even worse, studies linked high-dose vitamin E to a higher risk of heart failure, prostate cancer and death from any cause.

It is no wonder that American's believing in the honesty of their free press are so confused! In every case we have ever examined, these pharmaceutical funded "hit-studies" are completely flawed, i.e., the conclusions either do not match the data or are otherwise scientifically baseless. To review one of the more famous, after a '"Finish study" revealed that beta carotene was correlated with lung and other cancers, other researchers with integrity drew an entirely opposite conclusion.

Yale researchers, went back over the same Finish data, explained the flaw in isolating a single element from the data, and revealed that the data when taken as a whole did not show that beta carotene was related in any way to cancers.

The first "hit piece" against beta carotene made news. The Yale correction was a minor blip, generally ignored.

Its the same old story, biased studies cherry picking data that hurts supplements. These phony studies are apparently marketing efforts to prop up sales of pharmaceutical medications by scaring the population away from the low cost way to better health.)

Soluble Fiber, Not Vitamin C, Protects Mice Against The Flu Virus
http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/soluble-fiber-not-vitamin-c-protects-mice-against-the-flu-virus/

What do we know about mice that makes them SUBSTANTIALLY different from we humans regarding vitamin C?

Hint for the uniformed - mice, rats, and the vast majority of species on planet Earth make their own vitamin C in the livers and kidneys! Alas, we humans cannot and must rely on our diet..

Terrible - telling pregnant women that vitamin C isn't necessary is unconcionable. This report based on "meta studies" and of course there are none for vitamin C w/respect to pregnancy, the vitamin A studies are tainted - trying to scare people away from a simple vitamin that is more effective for soft cancers than chemotherapy.

Health researchers have looked into the evidence, finding that use of some supplements during pregnancy may be unnecessary and not completely without harm
https://ajp.com.au/news/are-supplements-beneficial-during-pregnancy/

For real (rather than purely false information based on tainted studies) see Roger J. Williams THE WONDERFUL WORLD WITHIN YOU https://riordanclinic.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/The_Wonderful_World_Within_You.pdf

No references, but if you read Pauling, nothing is more important for a pregnant woman than to be getting as much vitamin C as if she was able to make it herself (but for the damaged GULO gene). My wife started at 10 g daily. Easy pregnancy. One childhood disease - chicken pox for one day, one pok. As reported here, if you want your child healthy, happy and strong - supplement vitamin C before conception - through pregnancy, then lactation and into childhood.

The vitamin A scare is also a lie, and the truth is the opposite. Birth defects can be reliably induced in animal models by restricting vitamin A. Vitamin A is vital to avoid birth defects.

For example, vitamin C supplementation alone does not appear to be beneficial, and vitamin C combined with vitamin E from 12-18 weeks’ gestation has been shown to increase risk of foetal loss or perinatal death.

In addition vitamin A is a teratogen, with high intake during pregnancy being associated with increased risk of congenital malformations.

iodine is interesting.

They concluded that while folic acid and iodine are recommended for routine supplementation in order to reduce risk of developing major congenital malformations and support foetal neurodevelopment, supplementation of other vitamins and minerals is largely dependent on a woman’s abilities to meet recommended dietary intakes.

record of my online comment

Vitamin C and Vitamin A "meta analysis" is grossly inaccurate

We at the VitaminCFoundation.org believe that it is terrible advice to tell a pregnant women that vitamin C isn't necessary on such flimsy evidence. . This report based on "meta studies" and of course there are few or none w/respect to vitamin C and pregnancy. The vitamin A studies are tainted, in our opinion, to scare the public away from a simple vitamin that is more effective for soft cancers than chemotherapy.

Linus Pauling, informed us that nothing is more important for a pregnant woman than to be getting as much vitamin C as if she was able to make it herself (but for the damaged GULO gene). My wife started at 10 g daily before conception and through lactation. . Easy pregnancy. Our son had one childhood disease - chicken pox for one day, one pox. As reported by members of our forum, if you want your child healthy, happy and strong - supplement vitamin C before conception - through pregnancy, then lactation and into childhood.

The vitamin A scare is also a lie, and the truth is the opposite. Birth defects can be reliably induced in animal models by restricting vitamin A. Vitamin A is vital to avoid birth defects. For the real story on vitamin A we recommend Roger J. Williams THE WONDERFUL WORLD WITHIN YOU (available online for free)

Do any of these names ring a bell??

James Fixx
Michel Montignac
Nathan Pritikin
Paavo Airola
Robert Atkins
Robert E. Kowalski
Adelle Davis

If you answered NO!
Then your probably like everyone else who believes that healthy eating will make your heart indestructible.

One problem! All these people who vigorously promoted healthy dieting all died of heart attacks! I bet that aspect of these bogus studies was never brought to light. The reason not everyone heard about their deaths is because these failures were hidden by the “FOODIES!” and the media who didn’t want people to know they FAILED.
SO, GOOD LUCK if you think just healthy eating will protect you!!

Reader's Digest - 22 Warning Signs Your Vitamins Aren’t Going to Work
https://www.rd.com/health/wellness/why-some-vitamins-dont-work/

.”High doses of certain fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin E have been linked to cancer.” Water-soluble vitamins such as vitamins B and C, when taken in too-large doses, will just leave your body in urine. “Your money literally goes down the drain.” These are some of the vitamin mistakes you may not realize that you are making. If you take vitamins or supplements, check the label to make sure the US RDA is 100 percent or less.
