I don't claim to know. I have not studied the Spanish Flu, but "something" killed millions of people. There were no tools or knowledge back then to really know what the pathogen was. Maybe it was a mycoplasm? Tiny organism with a membrane.

I tire of watching these videos by "virology deniers" because they run in the face of the hundreds and/or thousands of studies by competent scientists. Reminds me of the "natural vitamin C complex" arguments. They sound wonderful, but lack a single scientific study supporting the idea of a "natural complex" that works to cure scurvy.

As far as "isolation" of a virus, Rucetti points out that early on, it was very difficult to "isolate" (which in this context means grow) because the viruses quickly killed the cells required for the virus to reproduce. Apparently Judy Mikovitz invented a method which allowed viruses to grow so they could be studied.

Added... Listening to the last Flu video... Hard to believe that volunteers would agree to try to contract a disease that was killing millions? So the argument is that because "volunteers" didn't immediately come down with a disease, its not a virus?

A) There is an incubation period - usually 10 to 14 days.
B) These volunteers had already shown they probably had immunity, ie. they did not have the disease.

Right, there's like a dozen experiments with hundreds of test subjects and they all had immunity. Like to see the odds on that.

And the next problem after the inability to prove contagion...
There was no risk to the most vulnerable (over 65) mortality even went down for the elderly.

How many died? 18 million? So what is the alternative theory if there was no contagion?

The whole idea that people volunteered to get sick back at the turn of the 20th century seems, well lets say hard to believe. Its like asking people in the 80s to try volunteer too get infected with the HIV virus. Who in their right mind would volunteer for that?

The elderly resistance may be a mystery, or it may be that they died of something else. What was the life expectancy? That so many children died, with breast feeding, indicates something new, something that there was no natural immunity to. Why this is evidence that it wasn't a flu virus is beyond me.

Some studies were done with prisoners, others with enlisted men. Possibly some were paid (pretty common).
It's 1918!!! Pretty sure anything goes. Likely preyed on the poor like they still do.
