After reading this doctor's advice about vitamins, I can say that he is both a menace and an imbecile.
Before I would go to this "doctor," I would disguise myself as a horse and try a veterinarian.

Ok so I went to have new blood work on May 3rd 2010.
Results
Overall cholesterol - 165
LDL- 102
HDL - 44
Waiting for Lipoprotein(a) to come back
I have been on the the Acorsine Product form Tower Labs plus the Liposomal C from LIVON LABS. Started in June of 2009
Last November my Bloodwork was: Overall Cholesterol 229 LDL 161 and HDL 43 Lipoprotein (a) 25
So I am very happy with these results in less than a year on the therapy. I average about 10 to 12 grams of C per day

Did you notice a gradual decline? How much Lypo C are you taking daily?

Thanks Owen and I feel great as well.
Scott, I have been on this protocol since June 2009. I first tested my blood in Septmeber 2009 and then again in Nov. 2009.
Prior to that I had been on 80 Mg . Lipitor daily for 5 years. ( Had 3 stents ) put in in 2005.
I finally started doing my own research and came upon Pauling, Levy etc. and decided to switch to high dose C alopng with the other Acorsine Tower Lab ingredients. As well as the Liposomal C. All together I dose about 10 to 12 Grams of C per day.
Of which Lipo C is about 4 grams of the 10 to 12 total.

I was under the impression that 1 pack of Lypo C is equal to 8-10 grams of VC. Who told you that it was 4 grams?
What I am curious about was did you test between 2009 and now? Was your reduction gradual? I have been on the therapy (about 15-20 grams of C) 9 mos. My last test was about in December or early jan-my readings went up. I'm due to test again now, which is 6 mos later..........hopeful.

I read his post as he takes 4 packets of Lypo daily.

Owen,
How does his math pan out? Was I mistaken about the lypo vs regular VC ratio's? He says he is taking 10-12 grams of VC daily; this under the Ascorsine 9 and Lypo C. How could that be 4 packs of Lyposhpheric???

I hope bclark responds, but I simply take his statement without any conversion. He gets 6 to 8 grams of vitamin C from Ascorsine-9 or other sources, and 4 grams from Lypo-C, 4 packets. (If you really meant 1 packet, please clarify)
p.s. It is interesting that if he does take 4 packets Lypo-C daily, that would be at least equivalent to 20 grams and perhaps equivalent to 40 grams, so the total daily vitamin C equivalence is 30 to 50 g.

Thats what I'm trying to say; How can it be 4 packs of Lypo; Either his math is off or he
is taking 1 pack of lypo daily and the Ascorsine which would equal about 18 grams daily.

Ok so here is your answer. I am taking 3 to 4 paks of Lipo Spheric Vit C per day. The packs state 1,000mg. So I was calculating my daily intake or 10 to 12 based on each pack being 1 gram.
That plus the dosage of Acorsine 9 and the Tower Heart Tech formula. ( 4 scoops ) daily is waht got me to the 10 to 12 I reported.
How can one be sure the Liposomal of 1,000mg is really like taking 4,000mg per dose?
Just curious

Okay, 3 or 4 packets of Lypo-C daily is at the very least 3000 to 4000 mg of sodium ascorbate. That is a good amount of Lypo-C and may help explain the fairly rapid change in cholesterol.
Lets go over the equivalence again. As I understand it, Dr. Levy (and/or Livonlabs.com), think each Lypo-C packet is roughly equivalent to 10,000 mg of ordinary vitamin C taken orally. I have made other conservative calculations in previous posts, and believe that each packet is at least equivalent to 4000 to 5000 mg, based on a lack of breakdown in the gut and increased absorption. Dr. Hickeys and Saul's book, VITAMIN C THE REAL STORY cites experimental data that shows liposomal forms do significantly increase serum vitamin C levels over taking the same amount orally as ordinary ascorbic acid (but I do not remember them mentioning a particular brand.)
So back to this case, in terms of ordinary oral vitamin C, 12 g AA from Ascorsine 9, and 12 to 20 g SA from the 3-4 Lypo-C is a CONSERVATIVE estimate of equivalence. (Dr. Levy/Livon might place the equivalence at 30 to 40 gram, but there is the issue of sodium ascorbate vs. ascorbic acid)
I think a rough estimate of 32 g "C equivalence" daily is about right.
