I love John Rappoport. However he sounds like he has read Mikovitz's books. Again, this has nothing to say or do with the science of virology, because the best science recognizes that simply finding the HIV virus (or remnant) doesn't guarantee the person will suffer full-blown AIDS. This HIV alone causes AIDS idea is something "pushed" by Gallo, Fauci, and that crowd, but is an idea which Mikovitz argues against. She says full immune deficiency is caused by a trigger, and the trigger Mikovitz postulates has to do with an unusual immune response, and may also include a combination with other viruses.
But in the 1980s they didn't know that, and hundreds of thousands died. Mikovitz did either her masters or PhD thesis on HIV/AIDS, and her examiners asked her whether Magic Johnson (then recently diagnosed with HIV) would live by following her suggestions. As she says in the book, so far, so good..
