Blood in the urine after taking vitamin C/Lysine

I have a patient Deborah Crandall. When she takes the Vitamin C and lysine every other day (1/2 scoop) she will have blood in her urine. Of course I told her to stop the C. Any ideas why this could be happening? She feels great and has better energy when she takes the C.
