Turns out that this measured blood levels and was one of the largest studies to date. So this study is important.

A similar study in the year 2000 found a 70% greater risk of stroke with low serum vitamin C.

I notice that the spinmiesters are at work, trying to change the subject to "fruits and vegetables."

However, only vitamin C supplements are guaranteed to raise blood levels of vitamin C.

Bill Sardi also does a good job of summarizing this information and presents it, in part, in a table-format.
