Digestive Issues, Tried Ester-C, can you advise

Post Number:#1  Post by ofonorow » Wed Feb 25, 2015 6:05 am

Hi,

As I have digestive problems I started taking Solgar's Ester C plus 2gr a
day for quite a while. But I am not content that calcium in Ester C may
contribute to arterial stifness. I found out about Liposomal vitamin C which
sounds good. But I also have high blood pressure and I am on a low salt diet.
Is it possible to get Liposomal vitamin C that does not contain Sodium as I
want to continue to take 2gr and higher vit C which doesn't have Calcium or
Sodium also will be kind to my stomach.
Thank you so much for your time and your advise.

E. H.

You should read David Brownstein's book SALT. That is where I learned that people on "salt restricted" diets alter their hormone balance and increase their risk (something like a 400% higher chance) of a heart attack.

In a nutshell, while highly refined table salt is not good for you, you need sodium and unrefined salt may contain up to 80 minerals and is something of a health food.

By the way, people who avoid salt tend to swell and have edema as the body tries to retain water - and thus its limited salt supply. If you start taking unrefined salt, you can and should also increase your intake of ordinary water.

We are not wild about Ester-C because of the calcium, but some people report good results. I wouldn't recommend it for high dosages.

Depending on the digestive issues, True-Liposomal Vitamin C may be your best bet until you heal.

Not to stray too far off topic but "digestive issues" to me screams additional nutrient deficiencies and/or parasitic issue. Many nutrients are critical for proper GI function and parasites are a LOT more common than people think and can wreak havoc on the whole body.
