This drug is an ARB also should be either given this or WINBP. This drug should be switched to an ACE inhibitor like Enalipril Malate. To be a standard regimen for ischemic heart condition.
3) WINBP 40 mg (Olmesartan Medoxomil)
ARB, BP med
As above
It appears from the drug names your giving here your in India.
The one I would like to see added is a Calcium Channel blocker but not just anyone I would like to see him on is Norvasc or in your area Maybe called Istin or Amlogard all are Pfizer made.
Because with his condition I would suspect he’s also experiencing Vassospasms
First question??? Did his doc switch him to a ace inhibitor (like enalipril) and drop one of these??
Did he add a calcium channel blocker???
If he didn’t do any of these it’s not surprising his BP would elevate!
When there is a build up in an artery there is a pressure being exerted on the walls of the artery which causes the muscle that surrounds the outer layers of the artery to start to contract and relax. This is done to try to move the problem that is causing the internal pressure. It’s what is called Peristalsis which is similar to what the muscle in your esophagus uses to push food down to the stomach. However in the arteries the tube is not segmented like the esophagus is so the contraction will run for a good piece of the artery which can signal the nervous system and clamp the entire system. Which lowers the volume and the body responds by increasing pressure. In the area of the occlusion circulation will be reduced even further. This causes the body to signal a release however now it’s getting conflicting signals and the area of the occlusion will begin to release and then contract to the point of a spasm and spasms cause pain.
Calcium channel blocker (like Amologard (in India)) cause these muscles to relax.
Ace inhibitors also play an important role in controlling this also.
If his doc doesn’t want to put him on these then get him on some L-Arginine or L-citrulline. Which will raise his Nitric Oxide levels which is what the body uses to relax these muscles.
On the L-Arginine start at 2000mg divided over the day. They usually are 500mg cap’s so 4 times a day.
Hope this helps in your understanding!
