Anyone cured vascular disease with PT while eating meat, fish, dairy?

Post Number:#1  Post by farside » Sun Mar 08, 2020 10:49 am

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Linus Pauling did not have a great deal to say about diet when on PT (i.e. vegetarian or not).

So I'm wondering if PT will work even if one consumes average amounts of meat and dairy. Maybe the answer is in moderation?

I know some members of the forum are meat and dairy consumers and have used PT successfully.

Risks of eating meat:

Very high AGE content when cooked at high temperatures
Palmitate fat content causes insulin resistance
Causes kidneys to go into hyperfiltration mode (esp. fish)[/list]
- maybe due to endotoxins left by bacteria, causing inflammation
- hyperfiltration an stopped by strong anti-inflammatory drugs
Causes acid load on kidneys (esp. fish)
Animal viruses can cause cancer
Raises IGF1 which is linked to increased cancer risk
Phosphorous (as phospates) damage kidneys and blood vessels
Heme iron damages blood vessels
Presence of organic pollutants
Presence of mercury in some types of fish
Arachidonic acid associted with inflammation.

Please read his books. He was very specific on his regimen page:

How to Live Longer and Feel Better

  • Take vitamin C every day, 6 grams to 18 g (6000 to 18,000 milligrams), or more. Do not miss a single day.
  • Take vitamin E every day, 400 IU, 800 IU, or 1600 IU.
  • Take one or two Super-B tablets every day, to provide good amounts of the B-vitamins.
  • Take 25,000 IU vitamin A tablet every day.
  • Take a mineral supplement every day, such as one tablet of the Bronson vitamin-mineral formula, which provides 100 mg of calcium, 18 mg of iron, 0.15 mg of iodine, 1 mg of copper, 25 mg of magnesium, 3 mg of manganese, 15 mg of zinc, 0.015 mg of molybdenum, 0.015 mg of chromium, and 0.015 mg of selenium.
  • Keep your intake of ordinary sugar (sucrose, raw sugar, brown sugar, honey) to 50 pounds per year, which is half the present U.S. average. Do not add sugar to tea or coffee. Do not eat high-sugar foods. Avoid sweet desserts. Do not drink soft drink.
  • Except for avoiding sugar, eat what you like - but not too much of any one food. Eggs and meat are good foods. Also you should eat some vegetables and fruits. Do not eat so much food as to become obese.
  • Drink plenty of water every day.
  • Keep active; take some exercise. Do not at any time exert yourself physically to an extent far beyond what you are accustomed to.
  • Drink alcoholic beverages only in moderation.
  • Do not smoke cigarettes.
Avoid stress. Work at a job that you like. Be happy with your family.

And he dedicatated a whole chapter in that book on bio-chemical individuality. Explaining why individuals needs can be totally different.

PS: personally got severe PAD after having been low-fat vegetarian from age 10 to 40. With the diagnosis I started PT, went low-carb, added daily eggs and weekly fish back to my diet. Since 2 years also added some occational beef (ie. once every two months, organic of course).

meat might be a "good food" back when Pauling was alive, indeed much has changed
AGES(advanced glycation end products ) are real things
so are HCAS
Heterocyclic amines (HCAs) are a group of mutagenic compounds found in cooked meats, particularly well-done meats

are they the same thing?

just marinate your meat can lower/eliminate HCAs, get plenty of vegggie

you got PAD from low fat vegetarian? how? didnt take enough vit C?
lots of studies showing low fat/vegetarian is healthy, so what caused your pad?

So you cured PAD using PT while on the eggs and fish diet? That's good to know, thanks!

As asked by JohnJackson, would like to know how being vegetarian can cause PAD.
(As for me, I kind of have the same question - how being vegan for 2 years could have caused my stroke. I think lack of EFAs and too low Vit C).

pamojja consumed animal fats which helped his condition.
But it may all be a matter of genetics!
If you are vegan, make sure you get fish oil and CoQ10 and B12 into you!
