sodium ascorbate or AA for bowel flush?

This forum will focus on the interesting topic of titrating oral vitamin C intake to so-called bowel tolerance, the point just prior to the onset of diarrhea

sodium ascorbate or AA for bowel flush?

Post Number:#1  Post by bryan2 » Sat Jun 16, 2018 2:22 pm

I have cancer and am being treated with opioids to control pain....having to deal with opioid incuded constipation and have found flushing with vitamin C very effective. however I've been using 10-12grams of vitamin C and am wondering if I should be using ascorbic acid instead of sodium ascorbate to minimize sodium intake.....would appreciate any comments....

You'll experience bowel flush at a lower dose of AA vs. SA, but may damage your gut mucosa.
