Question on pH

This forum will focus on the interesting topic of titrating oral vitamin C intake to so-called bowel tolerance, the point just prior to the onset of diarrhea

Question on pH

Post Number:#1  Post by ofonorow » Wed Nov 01, 2006 6:47 pm

From the email

Hello,

I am using 10 grams of vitamin-c a day and I worry about the ph balance. I've been looking online and can't find that information that I'm looking for. Could you please let me know what is the ph of plain asorbic acid, and if it will alter my ph balance with the amount I am using. Thanks so very much

Kevin

You can add baking soda to adjust the pH of your urine.

The pH of sodium ascorbate would be higher than ascorbic acid. So it varys, (Search the forum) but ascorbic acid is regarded as a weak acid.

PH of ascorbic acid in a 5% solution is 2.1~2.6.
Sodium Ascorbate is around 7.1.
