The book you want to read, and then give your doctor, is by Thomas Levy, MD, JD, (2002). CURING THE INCURABE: Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases and Toxins . Levy describes the protocol to eliminate Hep. C via IVC. (We have quite a few copies. Send me a private message if you are interested.)

Also, I think Dr. Julian Whitaker published a success with massive IVC, and this has been discussed here, but the link may have expired.

Don't expect your doctor to be receptive, however, you can keep badgering her to try IVC first. You might say, "Why don't we try this. It is supposed to resolve quickly, and if the C treatment doesn't work, as you seem to expect, then we can go your more toxic/risky route?" Worth a try.

p.s. Do a "search" for "Hepatitis" - many of the posts are still here, especially this one which contains quite an experience by alquitit

My husband has Hepatitis C and is experiencing symptons. After reading Dr. Levy's book on Vit C and Incurable diseases, we will be working with a doctor who treats Hep C with IVC. It would be very helpful to hear from people who have tried IVC treatment and it was successful. My questions are: how long did it take with IVC treatment before your liver results are normal, how often were you given IVC, what was the IVC dosage, has there been relapse. Any feeedback is appreciated.

I can tell you this. I have had hep c for over 30 yrs. I've known about it for 10 yrs. All any hepatoligist or disease specialist will talk about is whether I take the interferon or not. I had controlled my enzyme levels thru good diet / supplements for liver and no alcohol. It worked for 10 yrs. This year my levels ast/alt went thru the roof from ( ast 102)
(alt 162) in Jan. 3x normal to (ast 224)(alt 315) in September . Now I was ready to start pegylated interferon reluctantly next week. I started vitamin c intravenous therapy and continued glutathionne IV from approx. October to present. Low and behold when I get my latest blood tests for the hepatoligist to start treatment I notice that my ast is now 85 and my alt is 138. The only thing I did different was the vitamin c iv treatment. Although they are not normal yet they improved from 315 to 138 and 224 to 85 in 2 months. Normal is alt 36 and ast is 36. But that is a huge difference. I cancelled my interferon treatments 2 days prior regardless of these results. I'm taking the treatment once a week. It costs $140 a session so it's not affordable to everyone. A good attitude and a healthy lifestyle goes along way and it's free. Get blood results and get a copy of them. I have my blood tests since the start. Good luck to you and I hope this helps .

Dear Resonator,

Thank you so much for your helpful reply. IVC treatment where I live costs $200 per session and thus as you pointed out, this option is not affordable. Although I know IVC treatment is ideal, we may have to just stick with taking oral C since we can't afford the IVC treatment. In addition to IVC, are you also taking milk thistle? I have been reading that milk thistle (in addition to Vitamin C) is also very helpful with liver diseases such as Hep C. Again, thanks for your help.

I thought this might be of interest. Please note that there's much more information if you click on the link:

Alpha Lipoic Acid, Selenium and Silymarin

The standard-of-care treatments for severe liver damage, especially liver transplant surgery, can be painful, disabling, and extremely costly. From my experience in my practice, interferon and antivirals have less than a 30% improvement rate, and this response is usually not permanent.

Liver transplant surgery in a few cases can be lifesaving and necessary, but is uncertain and tentative, partly due to the residual viremia that ultimately infects the newly transplanted liver. I have found that the highest viral loads are seen following liver transplant surgery, since the residual viruses in the bloodstream and tissues have a new healthy liver on which to feed.

The triple antioxidant therapy offers a more conservative approach to the treatment of hepatitis C that is much less expensive. One year of antioxidant therapies described in this paper costs only a few thousand dollars, whereas liver transplant surgery costs more than $400,000 a year, and in five years, the person will probably require a new transplant. And, in addition, the transplant patient will require anti-rejection drugs and many doctor and hospital visits.

It appears reasonable to me that prior to transplant evaluation or during the transplant evaluation process, this conservative triple antioxidant treatment program should be considered. If there is a significant improvement in the patient's condition, liver transplant surgery may be avoided.

Not too long ago, I was invited by the Internal Medicine Society of Saxony to present my triple antioxidant protocol to the group in Dresden, Germany. I was asked why viral loads did not always fall to very low levels with my treatment program. I answered that from a microbiologist's point of view that I did not believe that one could ever completely eradicate a viral disease without killing the patient. I added that we could only hope to support and "teach" the immune system how to recognize and control a virus.

Normally, viruses remain part of our biology for the rest of our lives. And this does not necessarily make a person sick. We are all filled with billions of dormant viruses. As long as we have a healthy lifestyle and avoid unnecessary emotional and physical stress, the viruses should remain dormant. I believe that one can live to 100 years old with hepatitis C and still be a healthy person.

Thanks for the tip on triple treatment. I take alpha lipoic acid and glutathionne injections . Before and after my series of vitamin c IV treatment. I've cut back to one a month on the C . Glutathionne twice a month. Alpha lipoic twice a day along with detox factor . The other supplement i take is the japanese SST. Some may say I'm spending to much but I just look at it as my beer and cigarette money. Thank you and everyone for this forum. I am convinced that I'm on the right path. There is a lot of politics in this virus as in life and I always have looked for alternatives in both life and the treatment of this mystical virus.

Dear dede2de
Sorry for slow respone. I listed some of my other supplements in responding to the triple treatment which sounds like a good one. SST/Alpha lipoic acid/ Detox Factor and b complex is what I take now. The other thing I forgot to mention is the treatment of mercury levels from fillings. That is treated with DMSA and cilantro . One of my naturopaths is a pioneer in bringing awareness to the health hazards caused by metal fillings and vacinations . Hopefully you have hooked up with a good naturopath that will help you with all of this combined. Here's a link to his site in Vancouver!
