Hello everyone!
I've found a pure ascorbic acid 100% corn free here in Italy!
I want to start to take it...but , please, could you help me?
1)
WHEN IS BETTER TO TAKE PURE 100% ASCORBIC ACID?
2)
if I eat only fruits x my breakfast, could I take my dose od ascorbic acid 15 minutes before my fruits?
3)
Can I take ASCORBIC ACID with MY PROBIOTICS ( before the frius x my breakfast)?
4)
How much quantity to start?..6 gr until 18 gr ( linus Pauling suggestion)
5)
I suffer of gas and bloating and insomnia...
I'v eread in this forum that it's best to take ascorbic acid with proteins...
I eat me protein (meat or fish or eggs ) x dinner and nuts or beans x my lunch..
So I should take my ascorbic acid in the evening, before or after dinner, or before to go to bed..but I'M afraid to not sleep well...So, what do you think it's the bset thing to do in my situation?

I wouldn't worry so much about fine tuning your intake. Minimum is twice per day - every 12 hours. If you take enough, you'll start to get the throat tickle when you need the second daily dose.

More frequently is better - but less convenient.

If you get gas, then take less (and more often) so as to allow better absorption. And yes, it is better to take C with protein (to aid absorption) and away from carbohydrates (which may break down the vitamin in the gut) but it is probably not a big deal at the amounts we recommend here.

I firmly recommend a good brand of melatonin for a restful full-nights sleep. (My wife can tell the difference between various brands.)

Hello everyone again
and please...help me!
I've started to take 25 gr of pure ascorbic acid 100% corn free
(10 gr with my probiotics in the morning , 30' before fruits breakfast + 15 gr before protein dinner)
the result is...

GAS + BLOATED ABDOMEN + PAIN + SEVERE CONSTIPATION!!!!

what I have to do?
if with 25 gr of ascorbic acid I've severe constipation (!!!) is it mean that I need MORE THAN 25 gr?

or
is it better to stop to take ascobic acid?

Hi,
In my experience, take 10g total per day in 4 doses of 2.5 g. If you still have symptoms after getting use to this amount, then increase to 15g. 25 g is probably too much all at once for you right now unless you have a really serious health issue.

How much water are you drinking? Make sure you drink a lot with the vitamin C.

Maria, my memory fades..

Why, perhaps again, did you decide to 25 g per day? Why not start with 3-6 g
and work up until you get gas/bloating, etc?

Hello John and Dolev and Owen!
I've started to take directly a large quantity to clean my bowel...
But I've had only a severe constipation as result!
+ pain and contraction in my bowel...
too much acidity x me?

IF I DON'T HAVE ANY REACTION WITH A BIG DOSE OF ASCORBIC ACID...
THIS MEAN THAT I 'M SO VERY MUCH STRESSED AND SICK?

I'm drinking a lot of water daily ( 1.5-2 liters ) and I eat fruits + vegetables...!
I notice a water retention...even if I don't eat so much salt! 8 and I use only hymalayan or grey sea salt..)
I re-start to take low quantity 3 v/daily , each doses of 3-5 gr before my meals...
Is it ok?

Very strange reaction to 25 g of vitamin C. (Might be worthwhile to purchase some of the vitamin C test strips from Wholesale Nutrition - and verify that you have a lot of vitamin C in your urine.) If you do, (this means you are really taking vitamin C) then yes, your body is (apparently) absorbing all the ascorbate you are currently taking and you should determine where you bowel tolerance is.
