study comparing camu to vitamin C

What is vitamin C? Is there such a thing as a vitamin C complex? Why do so many people now believe in the complex?

Because of its particularly high vitamin C content, camu-camu is considered to have high nutritional value. Our study provides the first in vivo human data demonstrating the anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects of camu-camu juice. Moreover, the effects of camu-camu were more powerful, compared with those of vitamin C tablets, despite the equivalent vitamin C contents.

I'm not surprised by the results, since obviously camu-camu contains more substances with potentially anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties than vitamin C alone.

I wish the researchers had given more details about the camu-camu juice they used. Was it freshly squeezed or pressed, or a canned, pasteurized product? How many fruits per glass? I wonder if the same results would have been obtained using the powdered camu-camu that's widely sold as a supplement nowadays.
