Phlebitis caused by sodium ascorbate?

Hello,
I have been doing 80 grams of sodium ascorbate by I.V. in a 1000 ml bad of lactated ringers. I'm getting phlebitis ( inflamed, hardened, painful veins) I'm not sure if it is the sodium ascorbate or a result of my mast cells reacting. ( I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) Is sodium bicarbonate usually added to a sodium ascorbate bag, or should the sodium ascorbate be buffered enough on it's own?
