Thanks, your liver values look actually pretty good on your former higher fat diet. Too bad you recorded it not more systematically, because comparing only two test result usually doesn't means very much. There are too many variations from day to day just by being alive. For example, below what my liver enzyms varied on the same diet between maximum and minimum - but if I compare the first 5 years period with the second 5 years period, the averages are still almost the same:

Code: Select all

 variation average
ALT   20    (30)
AST   37    (32)
GGT   44    (37)
ALP  137    (81)
LDH  128   (218)
CPK  121   (145)
Alb  1.4   (3.9)
Glo  1.2   (2.9)
A/G  0.4   (1.3)
BIL  0.6   (0.6)

Therefore it would be really more meaningful, if you found at least your last 3 lab-results, and take their average. Or the far back the better.

Meaningful in what way? What are you looking for pamojja? I have "tons" of results going back years and years, these are just the most recent. I also have my recent hospital labs just after starting the new no/low fat diet. What values in particular would you like me to post?

Meaningful in the way, that the averages of more tests are more certain. A rise or fall from one test to the next get relativated that way. Just as in my case despite huge variation, the first 5 year period results averaged equal to the second 5 year period on the same diet.

To give such before and after number more significance, you would have to do much more than posting here, but use a spreadsheet software (libre office, excell, google spreadsheets..), and enter all test dates in columns, and different tests in rows. Then sit back and let the software make the calculation for averages (simply by marking the results to be averaged, and look in lower status bar how's the average). For a beginning, start with the last 3 lab-results.

Just as my lab-test results over time compared to intakes/interventions over time gave me much more insights than guessing, so would recording everything in a spreadsheet do for you. You really would do it for yourself, not us. Because in us the same interventions might give different outcomes. If not recorded and calculated, you're merely guessing.

I'm still not clear on what specific lab values you are looking at? Here are my latest CBC from the hospital (Sept 23,2019)

Code: Select all

Component   Your Value   Standard Range
WBC   4.8 x10(3) uL   4.0 - 11.0 x10(3) uL
RBC   4.77 x10(6)uL   3.80 - 5.80 x10(6)uL
HGB   12.1 g/dL   13.0 - 17.5 g/dL
HCT   35.5 %   39.0 - 53.0 %
PLT   97.0 10(3)uL   150.0 - 450.0 10(3)uL
MCV   74.4 fL   80.0 - 100.0 fL
MCH   25.4 pg   26.0 - 34.0 pg
MCHC   34.1 g/dL   31.0 - 37.0 g/dL
Specimen pre-warmed for 15 minutes.
RDW   14.7 %   11.0 - 15.0 %
RDW-SD   38.8 fL   35.1 - 46.3 fL

This is a graph of my last 15 such lab results. Note the hernia mesh was implanted June 2014, and started "acting up" Oct/Nov 2017.

You're adding too many other variables, like all the lab tests not that directly related to liver enzymes and function. And you to it in the most confusing way by adding screen shots of individual results unrelated. So everyone will have to scroll for ages for comparing the same parameters.

To get anything usefull, better limit on markers only related to liver like this:

Code: Select all

parameter high-fat-diet low-fat-diet

ALT             21          21
AST             28          25
GGT             ..          ..
ALP             88         109
LDH             ..          ..
CPK             ..          ..
Bil              0.8         1.2
Pro              6.3         7.7
Alb              3.6         3.8
Bil              2.7         3.7
A/B              1.3         1.0

For that you would of course have to enter your past values - at least the last 3 of them before changing to low-fat - into a spreadsheet and have the average calculated first. If you're unwilling to do that first, well then, we'll just leave it at that. Not possible to show any significant association of changing to low-fat diet to liver health this spurious way. Your enzyms are already too good. Unless it would really show detrimental by liver-enzyms jumping up many-fold. But that would probably be the opposite you would want to show.

Your fasting glucose before changing diet was 148 mg/dl, after 154 mg/dl. Such a small difference means virtually nothing, if you don't take many daily meassurements and compare the averages.

Your triglycerides by increasing carbs will probably have gone up a bid from 104 mg/dl. But again, showing really nothing. Cetainly nothing even a little bid in support of your announcement, that the M&M diet healed you diabetic glucose readings in 3 days.

However, the decrease of need in external insulin would show an improvement. If you remember how much you had to take in average before, compared to after.
