Here are a few interesting articles about major scientific studies supporting the use of Vitamin C.
There is an article in Science daily in which vitamin C was given to older adults and resulted in an average increase in caloric burn-off of 100 calories at rest.

In another study with rats Vitamin C was shown to reduce oxidative stress:
” The study showed that vitamin C reduced the levels of stress hormones in the blood-and also reduced other typical indicators of physical and emotional stress, such as loss in body weight, enlargement of the adrenal glands, and reduction in the size of the thymus gland and the spleen, according to Campbell.” This clearly supports high-dose Vitamin C administration.

The effect of vitamin C on tumor cell formation/inhibition is explained by a C.Y. Lee at Cornell. The benefits of quercetin are also discussed.
