Were the NAZI's "civilized"

We often refer to ourselves here across the pond as "civilized." The NAZI's in Germany in the 1930s-1940s had the most disciplined and organized country in history, but were they civilized?

Is "civilized" the opposite of anarchy?

I thought of this as America slowly descends into socialism. We blame the poor Chinese, who I don't think are that smart. The intrepid Vitamin C researcher has found that the vitamin B3 name change to Niacin (from nicotinic acid) happened in 1937, or during the height of Nazi Germany and its rise to power.

There is a great Mark Twain short story, The Jumping Frogs of Calvares County (sic?). Two kids were trying to boil frogs, but noticed if they dropped them in boiling hot water, they would immediately jump out of the pot. But if they put the frogs in when the water was cool or warm, they could slowly increase the temperatures, and eventually cook the frogs without them jumping out.

Where I learned, among many other things, that we Americans are not legally obligated to pay the income tax. (Every IRS agent has been taught the truth. The Federal Income Tax is entirely legal, however entirely voluntary.)
