When should I stop the therapeutic dosage and start maintenance?

Post by ofonorow » Sat Jan 11, 2025 11:09 am

Greetings!

I have a question concerning my Vitamin C dosing for mild heart disease

Have been taking 10,000 mg of vitamin c divided into 4 doses daily, along with the other supplements you recommend in your book, Practicing
Medicine Without a Lcense.

The last heart scan that I had in 2021 showed mild heart disease with a calcium score of 66.

My question is how long would you suggest that I take the therapeutic dosing before going to the maintenance phase?

Would you recommend retest of the calcium score?

The book is excellent, and thanks any suggestions you may have

Kind Regards
Barry
So long as one of the "other" supplements is lysine, I think you are on the right track.

The answer to the question of how long to stay on a therapeutic dosage has a lot to do with your measured Lp(a) score.

As it approaches zero, the less proline you would require (in theory) to control Lp(a).

I looked back through my records and as far as I know have never had my Lp(a) checked

Im scheduled for a lipid profile in Janurary and will get that number

I'm taking 10,000 mg of vitamin c , 8,000 mg of Lysine, 2,000 mg of Proline spread out over 4 doses daily
along with the other supplements recommended in your book.

Thank You

Kind Regards

Owen,

My Lpa measured at 8.5 nmol/L

I have been on a therapeutic dose of 10k mg of Vitamin C daily with 8k mg of lysine and 2k mg of proline along with the recommended supplements in your book for almost 2 months

How long would you recommend that I continue therapeutic dosing?

What would be your recommended dosage for maintenance ?

Thank You again for your book and for helping so many people to understand the benefits of Vitamin C

Kind
Wonderful. I just want to check the units.

Does the print out say that around 90 nmol/l is "normal"? (rather than around 20 mg/dl)

If so, your Lp(a) is happily very low and one scoop of the Cardio-C XM daily should be warranted.

It says 75 nmol/L is normal

Great. So your score is 10% of normal. Very low. You are a good candidate for the maintenance product Cardio-C XM.
