My husband has had 2 stents inserted and was put on Lipitor 20mg & Aspririn - NuSeal 75mg in 2002. What protocol should he follow with your product(s) in a bid to stop using statins altogether?

Linus Pauling recommended 6000 to 18000 mg of vitamin C as ascorbic acid, and 5000 to 6000 mg lysine.

I'd purchase these as pills, and start taking a divided amount every 4 hours. See http://www.orthomed.com/titrate.htm for information on determining vitamin C bowel tolerance.

The Tower Pauling-therapy products are merely a convenience for people who tire of or have trouble taking so many pills.

I'm also interested in hearing opinions about whether there is a problem stopping statins suddenly. I tell people who are taking statins for primary prevention to stop immediately since there is certainly no research supporting using these drugs for primary prevention, but I would like to know if I should take more caution in this type of recommendation. Should they be stopped slowly? What about men who have had heart attacks, can they stop suddenly?

Please nobody lecture me about how statins are unnecessary, as I would find this quite insulting as I am a long-time quack who knows this already. I just want to know more about stopping the intake suddenly.

Dr. Graveline recommends a gradual reduction over a two week period.

I just recently went off statins gradually over a two week period with no problems at all. Hopefully my CoQ10 levels will increase. Also I'm supplementing CoQ10 at 100mgs per day. I'm feeling much better now and have more energy.
