Thank you for this. I did not see the amount of vitamin C used, do you know?

I wish I knew, Owen. The abstract doesn't say and I can't find the full-text, of the study, online.

Here's the web site of the journal that the study is taken from. It doesn't appear that this study is listed there yet.

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/09394753

I wish they listed the e-mail address of one of the authors. Sometimes I can get info. by contacting them directly. No such luck this time.

I work in a research center affiliated with a University and have free access to most medical journals. I cannot give you the text of the full article without violating copyright, but I did a quick scan for the information. (However, the .PDF of the article is also available for purchase at the Science Direct link in the above post.)

Vitamin C was provided through food sources rather than as a supplement. There are Tables included in the article but you're probably correct that you'll get better information from the principal author. Her email address is ingrid.ellingsen@uus.no. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot, EHSAL. I'll send her an e-mail and I'll report back (if she gets back to me).

Vitamin C was provided through food sources rather than as a supplement.

Given the rather low amounts that can be made available in this manner, this makes these results somewhat unexpected.
