I saw a study about pantenthine (Vitamin B5) lowering cholesterol

Post by ofonorow » Fri Oct 18, 2024 10:44 am

I saw a study about pantenthine lowering cholesterol how is that related to the pauling rath theory of heart disease and would high dose pantothenic acid help the same way?

Does B5 help for weight loss for someone on a 2,000 calorie diet?

The Pauling/Rath theory is that cholesterol, primarily the LDL variant Lp(a), increases to assist the body by patching and stabilizing the walls of weak arteries. (Arteries weakened by too little collagen). So if this form of vitamin B5 does lower the symptom of elevated cholesterol, it must be helping by putting out the underlying heart disease fire.

The theory regarding weight loss is that ketosis (ketones) are a smoke from an incomplete fire when the body changes from burning clean glucose to harder to burn fat. Dr Leong theorized and found that people taking enough vitamin B5 did not go into ketosis, presumably because higher B5 promotes more efficient fat burning.

I am to the point in my life where I think what you eat has little importance to the overall goal of weight loss, other than keeping in mind that the sugar fructose (which is half of the ordinary table sugar sucrose) does promote the liver to create fat, which is then stored in fat cells throughout the body. You do require glucose for life, energy and healing, but it is true that you want to limit or eliminate ordinary refined table sugars (with fructose) as much as possible.

On the other hand, fruits, which do contain some fructose, are important, have strong anti-cancer properties. Do not be afraid of eating fruit.

The Universe has directed me lately to Dr. Jack Kruse, MD. You can watch his "banned TEDx talk" and learn how he, at over 350 lb in 2009, lost over 150 lb in about a year. He was also able to achieve the same result with an overweight child and nephew.

The basic prescription: Never miss a morning sunrise, facing east out in the sun without sunglasses or sunblock. And minimize artificial and blue light, especially later in the day and at night. People who have been cured of their conditions with this protocol spend about 90 minutes every morning in the sun.

Kruse is convinced the science of biology is wrong by not recognizing the importance of light (including the fact that we produce a faint (can't be seen) but "intense?" light in all our cells. The light controls biological functions and he believes light can replace most pharmaceuticals.

Sounds a little nuts until you learn more about how various light colors affect the human body. He claims that not only does Red Light "prime" the body for the day, but that it is the UV light which is really healthful.

Thanks for the response!

You didn't address one thing in your post: In your experience, does high-dose B5 help someone on a 2,000-calorie diet lose weight?

I cannot answer that question, but I tried to educate you on how B5 works (by making fat burning more efficient) and point out that calories are not really the issue.

The issue is how many of the calories are coming from the fat-inducing sugar fructose.

Eating processed food with ordinary table sugar (which is half fructose) is what makes people fat.

What makes it confusing is that the other half of table sugar, glucose, is required for healing and powers the heart, liver and brain.

We need glucose as much as we need oxygen and water.

The right amount of fructose comes from eating fruits.

BTW, I would be wary of the new weight-loss drugs/peptides that are based on Gila Monster venom and paralyze the stomach.
