Calcium ascorbate and bowel tolerance

Post by Blanko » Mon Nov 11, 2024 3:57 pm

I've been taking the Natural Factors BioCgel very frequently without any trace of bowel tolerance. Normally if I take regular ascorbic acid tablets bowel tolerance hits quickly. Any idea why I can take so many of these without any BT?

Here is the product: https://naturalfactors.com/products/vit ... -berryrich

Says 60 mg of calcium per softgel. Therefore, if I take 10-20 of these a day, is that level of calcium harmful?

Currently have an acute condition I am trying to remedy and popping these is very easy and seems to be helping me turn the corner. They have a value-sized version as well where you get 210 per bottle.

As well, with this level of calcium should I be taking more magnesium?

Suspicious about the brand. Looks like a great formula, but it might be wise to get some vitamin C "test strips" and open a capsule and see if there is vitamin C. Is their fluid in the capsule? Vitamin C degrades in fluids by half in 4 hours.

And yes you can get too much calcium according to the book DEATH BY CALCIUM by Dr. Thomas E Levy, MD, JD.

We are tracking down a rare "failure" of Pauling's therapy for cardiovascular disease. The gentleman is following a wonderful protocol, but not using our products. I am becoming convinced that pure powders are going to be the most reliable way to obtain your vitamin C.

Aren't those gels very similar to liposomal vitamin C?
